as others own said it depends on the type of graphics slot you have available. recommended for battlefield 2 would conspicuously be pci express x16 because it passes the most bandwidth between the computer and the card so a better fps. all computers own the regular pci slot, but it is not just for graphics. i would not recommend buying a pci card, most are not impressively high-end. find out what type of slot you have by exit your computer and checking the slot next to the pci slots. if it is brown it is probably agp 8x. surrounded by the sources is a picture of an agp slot and a pci express slot. compare them to yours and post what it is.

For AGP i would stick with ATI Radeon 9600 PRO or 9800 PRO

For PCI Xpress (pci x16) nVidia 6800 or difficult versions. 6800GT is a correct one.
Dont bye Radeon 9600/9700 they heavnt good drivers so nVidia is best one

and second what resolution will you be playing Battlefield 2 at?



Well if you have agp 8x within your price range the 7600gt is in a minute available for agp8x and is a decent artist at around $170



If you have a PCIex16 slot you can capture a 7900gs for around 195 and it will handle Battlefield 2 moderately well.



If i know more about your system.. i could give support to you a little better, but those are the best videocards for respectively slot in that price span.
