What is the difference between a gateway and a router?

I enjoy the Verizon DSL connection and am feed up with the wires. I obligation a device, either a gateway or router( Idont know which one) to construct it wireless.

What is the difference between a gateway and a router?

The difference is basically that a gateway is one to one and a router is lots to many. Companies approaching to call things routers when they are single really gateways, so the distinction is being lost over time. I use a D-Link DI-624, it works for me but some hold had issues next to it.

Linksys Routers, the current ones will function either as a Gateway or a Router: It may not be a flawless idea to catch an N class just Yet because of some problems next to Standards, but the B and G class Routers that Have a Wireless Capability from Linksys are great, especially with the Setup Disc from Cisco that make it incredibly easy to setup; plus Linksys support is superb
Linksys have the best routers. the fastest one is wireless N. That just come out and it is 150ish in price. if you don't want the clear that much that you can get wireless G for just about 50 dollars
Well you need a wireless router beside that you need a wireless nic card for your computers.
The point you want to buy is a wireless router. Lots of company's make them Linksys is a dependable brand. So is DLink.
