Isnt in one and the same league as an HD - can have singular 4.7 Gigs written on each side (max)

Cant dream up of anything else.. fantastic VFM proposition
If you mean the DVD-ROM format of DVD's, the drawbacks are that you enjoy to make sure that your DVD players are compatible next to it. It is also not easy to find and is more expensive than other formats.
