What is the difference between "Ultra ATA" and "Serial ATA?"?

Serial ATA(SATA) have transfer speeds up to 6x faster than Ultra ATA. They aren't backwards compatible and if your motherboard is more than a year mature you'll probably need to put in a pci card to support SATA.
In addition, your power supply will own to have SATA connectors and so will the motherboard you're installing it contained by.
