What is the difference contained by using a USB 2.0 port and an previously one such as USB 1.1 port?

What difference would an upgrade create? Much of a difference or not that much?

Any idea how much something close to that might run??

Thanks.

The biggesst difference is transfer speed. Most devices expected for USB 2 will throttle down, but if you are doing something like copying a thorny drive, you will really see it. If you are using a USB dvd player, it likely won't work short USB 2. Upgrade requires a PCI card which runs about 20 to 30 dollars.
from what i kno...on the 2.0...if you enjoy a ipod or other such like that...you can in actual fact charge the battery next to that port...unlike the older ones

and i also believe that more information can be sent faster...or somehthing like that
A USB 2 port is quicker. It's cheap to upgrade, but form sure your system is compatible.
USB 2.0 has faster facts transfer rate than USB 1.1 and most of the upcoming and untried devices are based on USB 2.0
The 2.0 is faster, but what difference it make depends on WHAT you connect with it.

Some things will NOT work next to the slower connection. Others will work next to either at a speed that may not coppers much, and still others may show a significant difference.

The easiest way to upgrade if you hold a desktop PC and a vacant PCI slot is to buy a USB 2.0 append on card and plug it in.

I don't know the current cost, but when I bought mine it be $19.95 and added 4 ports.
