It depends on what your motherboard can give somebody a lift. I would recommend the following card:



nVIDIA 7600GT



You can buy this online from lb90-lb120 and is a fantastic high call a halt mid-range card. I personally own the PCI Express version which is much faster next it's AGP counterpart.



Dont just look at how much memory the card comes beside. As some of the better cards come with smaller number, but the memory technology is more modern and much faster - therefore the card perform better.

If you have some pictographic intensive games in mind after you need one near at least 256MB memory.

For common word processing and internet access a 32Mb or 64Mb is more than adequate.

Also you have need of to know what slots are available on your pc eg AGP, or PCI or PCI express.
