What is DDR,DDR2 RAM. How It is different from run of the mill RAM?

DDR is majority Ram. SDRam is outdated.

If you're upgrading an already built computer, then DDR is not going to work contained by a SD system. And DDR2 is not going to work in a DDR. They are adjectives 3 different plugs.
DRAM is dynamic where as RAM or SRAM is static. The word static indicates that the memory retains its contents as long as power remains applied, unlike dynamic RAM (DRAM) that wishes to be periodically refreshed.



For economical reason, the large (main) memories found within personal computers, workstations, and non-handheld game-consoles (such as Playstation and Xbox) normally consists of dynamic RAM (DRAM). Other parts of the computer, such as cache memories and facts buffers in knotty disks, normally use static RAM (SRAM).
DDR is Double Data Rate RAM and DDR2 is Double Data Rate 2 RAM (basically faster than plain DDR). These two types of memory are not interchangable since they operate a differeing clock rates. There also different clock speeds contained by either respective group.
